Did you know you’re burning calories by simply reading this post?

Binge over the Holidays? That’s ok! We did too! Now that we’re getting back to our regular routine, we’re looking for convenient ways to eat well and burn those calories right away. Did you know you’re burning calories by simply reading this post? No joke. Let us explain.

Weight gain can be calculated by simple math. I know what you may be thinking… “oh great… numbers”. But believe us, it’s unbelievably simple. 1 pound of fat is equivalent to 3,500 calories. It can be a scary number, but don’t let that discourage you!  We’re burning calories by literally existing.

An inactive woman between 19 and 30 years of age burns an average of 2,000 calories daily, while an inactive woman between 31 and 51 burns about 1,800 calories per day.

An inactive man between 19 and 30 years of age typically burns between 2,400 - 2,600 calories, while an inactive man between 31 and 51 burns about 2,200 - 2,400 calories per day.

There are various factors that can affect these numbers, such as height, current weight and lifestyle, but the math is super straight-forward. If your daily intake is less than your daily calorie burn (even while you’re inactive), you’ll lose weight over time. You’ll also notice that people who exercise lose weight faster. That’s because they’re burning more calories than the average inactive person.

But our bodies are used to yummy food and LOTS OF IT.

We’re here to help.

Five of our best-selling jars (including Vegan options) are less than 400 calories each and pack 10-34g of protein. When we eat protein (such as meat, fish, eggs or beans) our digestive system breaks it down into amino acids, which our bodies can use for a range of functions, including muscle building (giving active people that shapely, muscular physique). Check out these stats from some of our most popular jars:

Beef Teriyaki – 290 calories – 27g of protein

No Butter Chicken – 340 calories – 34g of protein

Tuna Antipasta – 370 calories – 30g of protein

Zucchini Beef Houdini – 300 calories – 23g of protein

No Butter Chickpea (Vegan) – 310 calories – 13g of protein

These are only five examples from the 10+ jars that we offer; each being low calorie, low fat, low cholesterol, low sodium, and PACKED with protein!

Let’s do the math. The average person has 3 solid meals a day and snacks in between. Jane Doe has a bowl of cereal and milk for breakfast (average 350 calories), a No Butter Chickpea for lunch (310 calories) and a Beef Teriyaki Jar for dinner (290 calories). The sum of these three meals is less than 1000 calories. Jane could even go for a bag of chips and she’d still be losing weight if she stuck to this diet for a week, and beyond!

Weight loss is simple. Do what works best for you. Don’t starve yourself. You can eat yummy food while losing weight, and we’re here to help. Spend your time burning calories outside, or at the gym, or even while relaxing on the couch watching Netflix (because remember: we burn calories while existing). Share this with your family and friends. We’re sure they’d appreciate your advice!

I’m a fitness instructor myself. Just wanted to say that I completely agree with this. Its hard to convince people that weight management is easy. I think this coneys that well. Shared it with a bunch of friends.
